Scalp Treatments
If your scalp feels oily, itchy, flaky, or sensitive — or you are dealing with scalp acne, dryness, or unexplained discomfort — it is often a sign that your scalp barrier needs attention. Our scalp treatment begins with a thorough scalp analysis and a personalised plan, so every session addresses the right concern in the right way.

Ask us on WhatsAppWhy Scalp Analysis Comes First
Many scalp concerns look similar on the surface. For example, flaking can come from dry scalp, dandruff, or seborrhoeic dermatitis — each requiring a different approach. A thorough analysis before treatment is not optional at NŌMI; it is the starting point for every session.
Oil levels and pore congestion
We assess how active your sebaceous glands are and whether follicle openings are congested — a key factor in oily scalp, scalp acne, and hair loss.
Product buildup and residue
Accumulated product, mineral deposits, and residue can block absorption and create an environment where scalp issues thrive undetected.
Redness, sensitivity, and irritation zones
We map areas of inflammation and sensitivity to guide treatment pressure, product selection, and the sequence of care.
Flake type and scalp comfort
Fine, dry flakes indicate dehydration. Oily, yellowish flakes suggest seborrhoeic dermatitis. The difference determines which programme and actives to use.
Our Scalp Treatment Steps
Each session is built around your scalp analysis, so the steps and products vary. A typical scalp treatment at NŌMI includes:

Identify your scalp condition and personalise the session to your specific concern and goals.
Gentle Scalp Exfoliation
Lift buildup, dead skin, and residue without disrupting the scalp barrier.
Steam Therapy
Soften residue and open the scalp surface to maximise absorption of treatment actives.

Device-assisted treatment, scalp tonic application, and Japanese head massage applied in sequence.
Bespoke Scalp Tonic
Blended to your individual scalp profile to support the specific condition being treated.
Blow-Dry Finish
Using the Panasonic Nanoe™ dryer for a smooth, protected result.

FAQ: Scalp Treatment
They can overlap, but the emphasis is different. Scalp treatment is usually results-focused — addressing specific concerns such as excess oil, persistent itch, flaking, sensitivity, scalp acne, or dryness. A head spa places greater emphasis on relaxation and the sensory experience, while still caring for the scalp. Some of our programmes, like Shiki — Signature Spa, combine both.
Dry scalp tends to produce fine, white flakes and is often accompanied by tightness or itchiness, with no excess oiliness. Dandruff (seborrhoeic dermatitis) typically produces larger, yellowish or oily-looking flakes and is often linked to scalp redness and a greasy root zone. A scalp analysis at the start of your NŌMI session will confirm which condition is present and which treatment approach is right for you.
In most cases, yes — though timing matters when the scalp is sensitised from a recent chemical service. We generally recommend waiting at least two to four weeks after a significant chemical treatment before a results-focused scalp session. If your scalp is already feeling irritated or reactive, let us know before booking.
This depends on the condition and its severity. For milder concerns, many guests notice a meaningful difference within two to three sessions. For persistent conditions — chronic dandruff, ongoing hair loss, or deeply sensitised scalps — a structured course of four to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart is typically recommended, followed by monthly maintenance.
