Colour built
on care.
Every colour service at NŌMI begins with an honest consultation — because the right colour starts with understanding your hair's current condition, history, and what it can safely achieve.

Four core colour services, from no-bleach tones to full lightening — each planned and executed with long-term hair integrity in mind.
Colour Without Bleach
Rich, dimensional tones applied directly — suitable for guests who want a significant change without the commitment or damage of lightening. Best for going darker, adding warmth, or refreshing faded colour. Results are vibrant and low-maintenance.
Low damageBleach & Lightening
For high-impact brightness — platinum, ash, pastel, and vivid tones that cannot be achieved without first lifting the hair. We approach bleach conservatively: assessing elasticity, porosity, and history before committing to any lightening plan.
Consultation requiredHighlights
Strategically placed lightened sections that add dimension and contrast without changing the overall base. Foil highlights, freehand, or a combination — the placement is planned around your face shape and the effect you want to create.
Natural finishBalayage
Hand-painted lightening applied to give a sun-kissed, graduated effect that is softer at the roots and brighter at the ends. The most low-maintenance colour service we offer — grow-out is intentional rather than obvious.
Low maintenanceHow We Plan Your Colour
Every colour appointment follows a three-part framework — so the result is considered from start to finish, not just on the day.
Target Tone
We establish the exact goal — not just "lighter" or "darker" but the specific tone family, warmth level, and finish. Reference photos help, but we will calibrate against what your hair can realistically achieve at this visit.
Placement
Where the colour goes matters as much as the colour itself. We map out which sections receive full colour, highlights, or balayage — and how the placement interacts with your face shape, parting, and movement.
Integrity Plan
Before any application begins, we assess your hair's current condition and set a treatment protocol for during and after the service. The goal is colour that looks good — and hair that stays healthy enough to continue improving.
Service Comparison
| Service | Result | Maintenance | Damage Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colour Without Bleach | Rich, deep tones — darker or warmer | Every 4–8 weeks | Minimal |
| Bleach & Lightening | Ash, platinum, pastel, vivid | Every 6–10 weeks | Higher |
| Highlights | Dimensional contrast, brightened sections | Every 8–12 weeks | Moderate |
| Balayage | Sun-kissed, graduated fade | Every 3–4 months | Low–Moderate |
Guests with a history of bleach, perming, rebonding, or scalp sensitivity should disclose this before booking. We may recommend a patch test and will always advise on the safest approach before any chemical application begins.
Colour Aftercare
How you care for your colour at home is as important as the service itself. A few simple habits make a significant difference to longevity and vibrancy.
-
Colour-Safe Cleansing
Use a sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner. Sulphates strip colour and dry the hair significantly — switching products is one of the single most effective things you can do to preserve your result.
-
Heat Protection
Always apply a heat protectant before using a hairdryer, straightener, or curling iron. High heat accelerates colour fade and increases porosity in chemically treated hair.
-
Tone Maintenance
For cooler tones and ash results, a purple or blue toning shampoo used once a week helps neutralise brassiness between visits. Your stylist will recommend a specific product during your appointment.
-
Deep Conditioning
A weekly hair mask or deep conditioner maintains the moisture balance in colour-treated hair. Lightened hair in particular benefits from regular hydration to keep the texture smooth and manageable.
Hair Colour FAQs
It depends on your starting base. Very dark hair will typically need at least some lightening to achieve true ash or cool tones. We will assess your current colour and advise on the most realistic outcome during your consultation.
Brassiness after lightening is very common and is typically managed with a toner applied during or after your colour service, combined with colour-safe aftercare at home. We will address this as part of your service plan.
In most cases, yes. We recommend disclosing any scalp sensitivity before your appointment so we can take extra care with application, timing, and product selection. A patch test may be advisable if you have not coloured with us before.
It depends on the service. Full colour typically needs refreshing every 4–8 weeks, highlights every 8–12 weeks, and balayage can go 3–4 months with the right toning maintenance at home. Your stylist will give a personalised recommendation.
We typically recommend spacing colour and scalp treatments apart by at least a few days — chemical services and intensive scalp treatments work best when the scalp is in its natural state. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will suggest the right sequencing for your goals.
It helps. If you are planning a significant colour change — especially one involving bleach — sending a WhatsApp photo of your current hair and a reference image helps us give you an accurate time estimate and price range before your visit, so there are no surprises on the day.
Colour that respects
your hair.
Send us a WhatsApp with your current hair colour, goal, and any reference images. We will advise on the approach and confirm your appointment from there.
