Korean Perm Services
Whether you are looking for soft waves, loose curls, or added volume — we offer Korean perms tailored for both women and men.
Korean Perm for Women
Soft, structured waves with a polished finish — designed to look effortlessly natural whether worn air-dried or styled. The wave size, placement, and intensity are all planned to suit your hair's current length, weight, and condition. Grows out gracefully rather than abruptly.
Korean Perm for Men
Texture and volume with a modern, low-maintenance approach. A men's Korean perm adds controlled movement to fine or flat hair — whether you want a subtle wave through longer layers or defined texture across a shorter cut. Styled to look intentional, not frizzy.
Digital Perm vs Cold Perm
Two distinct techniques — each producing a different finish. Your stylist will advise which method suits your hair condition, length, and desired outcome during consultation.
Digital Perm
Heated rods combined with controlled processing — produces soft, relaxed waves that look their best when the hair is dry. Ideal for guests who want a polished, natural wave that holds well without scrunching.
Cold Perm
No heat is applied — chemical processing alone creates the curl pattern. Produces tighter, more defined curls that are most pronounced when the hair is wet and scrunch-dried. A more classic perm finish.
What to Expect
A Korean perm appointment at NŌMI follows a careful, considered process — from initial assessment to final styling guidance.
Consultation
We assess your hair history, current condition, and goals — and advise on the most suitable perm type, wave size, and placement for your specific hair and lifestyle.
Shape Planning
The rod size, placement pattern, and sectioning are mapped out before processing begins — because the structure of the perm is what determines whether the result grows out beautifully or awkwardly.
Process & Style
Preparation wash, rod placement, processing, neutralisation, and final styling. For digital perms this includes a heat-setting phase. Your stylist will demonstrate how to maintain the wave pattern at home.
Perm Aftercare
A perm changes the structure of your hair — how you care for it in the days and weeks after will directly affect the longevity and condition of the result.
Wait 48 Hours Before Washing
Resist washing, tying, or pinning your hair for the first 48 hours after your perm. The wave pattern needs time to fully set — washing too soon will loosen the curl and affect the final result.
Gentle Drying
Scrunch your hair dry with a microfibre towel rather than rubbing. For defined waves, air-drying or using a diffuser on low heat maintains the curl pattern much better than a regular blowdry.
Hydrating, Repair-Focused Products
Permed hair benefits from moisture. Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner, and incorporate a weekly hair mask. Avoid sulphate-heavy shampoos that strip moisture and cause frizz.
Avoid Tight Styling & Excessive Heat
Avoid tying permed hair tightly in the first week. Limit straighteners and curling irons — heat styling can relax the perm prematurely. If you do use heat, always apply a protectant first.
Please disclose before booking if you have had bleach, colour, rebonding, keratin, or another chemical service in the past 6 months — or if you have scalp sensitivity, wounds, or inflammation. Perming on compromised hair carries a higher breakage risk, and we will advise accordingly.
Perm FAQs
It depends on the extent of the chemical history and the current condition of your hair. Bleached or heavily processed hair has reduced elasticity, which increases the risk of breakage during a perm. We will assess this honestly during consultation and advise whether perming is safe or whether a conditioning period is needed first.
A well-maintained Korean perm typically lasts 4–6 months. The wave will soften gradually as the hair grows out — rather than disappearing sharply. Regular deep conditioning and avoiding excessive heat styling are the most effective ways to extend the result.
A digital perm uses heated rods to create soft, relaxed waves that look best when dry. A cold perm uses chemical processing alone to create tighter, more defined curls that are most prominent when wet. Your stylist will recommend the most suitable type based on your hair length, texture, and the result you want.
Yes — it helps. Sending a WhatsApp photo of your current hair alongside a reference image gives us a clear picture of your starting point and goal before you arrive. We can then advise on whether the result is achievable and provide a time and price estimate in advance.
